IEEE ITSS - German Chapter
Welcome to the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society German Chapter.
IEEE is the world’s largest professional association advancing innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity. There are currently more than 430,000 IEEE members in more than 160 countries. IEEE publishes a third of the world’s technical literature in electrical engineering, computer science and electronics.
IEEE, pronounced “Eye-triple-E,” stands for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. IEEE’s roots go back to 1884 when electricity began to become a major influence in society.
The IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society (ITSS) advances the theoretical, experimental, and operational aspects of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies as applied to intelligent transportation systems (ITS). IEEE ITSS mission is to advance the theoretical, experimental, and operational aspects of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies as applied to ITS, defined as those systems utilizing synergistic technologies and systems engineering concepts to develop and improve transportation systems of all kinds.
The IEEE German ITSS Chapter was established in April 2019 to become the meeting place of choice for the intelligent transportation systems community in Germany. The chapter will unite these members and promote intelligent transportation systems in the country.
The objectives of the IEEE ITSS German Chapter are:
- Encouraging researchers to cooperate
- Increasing contributions in the area of intelligent transportation systems
- Disseminating latest ITS innovations in Germany
These objectives can be achieved through various activities including seminars, lectures, workshops, conferences, and other events. You are welcome to attend any of our meetings, even if you are not a current IEEE member. We do, however, encourage you to Join IEEE and Join ITSS.
