2023 IEEE ITSS R8 Chapters Meeting

The goal for the IEEE ITSS R8 Chapters Meeting is to connect industry and academia, showcase technological innovations for intelligent transportation systems and to inspire scientist with the latest developments on topics such as: perception, SLAM, traffic modelling or high levels of vehicles’ autonomy.


In 2023, the IEEE ITSS Annual R8 Chapters Meeting will take place in Berlin, Germany, on the 30th November – 1st December. 

The program for this event is coordinated by the IEEE ITSS R8 Chapters (Austrian, Cypriot, German, Italian, Spanish and Tunisian). The event will feature keynote presentations from renowned professionals, technical presentations, expert panel discussions and networking opportunities. Anyone is welcome to join the event.

 

Fellowship opportunities

The fellowship opportunity provides financial support to those interested in participating at the 2023 IEEE ITSS R8 Chapters Meeting. The goal is to engage individuals interested in ITSS-related topics and allow them to present their work and discuss with other experts in the field.

The deadline to submit your proposal for the fellowship is 10th October. 

Eligibility conditions:
  • The fellowship is open to everyone.
  • The fellowship covers travel expenses for up to $700 USD.
  • We value active members who are enthusiastic about participating in future ITSS events.
  • Please state how you would like to share and present your work (i.e., as a short technical presentation or as a poster).
  • You do not need to be an IEEE ITSS member to submit your proposal. However, if awarded with the fellowship, IEEE ITSS membership will be required.
  • A special travel fellowship of $200 USD is available for students at German universities (at bachelor, master or PhD level). IEEE ITSS membership is not required for them.
 

A dedicated committee will evaluate all received applications according to the interest of the topic for the intended audience.

Reimbursement of Travel Costs for Fellowship Recipients

IEEE ITSS uses Concur to process expense reimbursements of travel expenses and other reimbursements to fellowship recipients. Concur is a cloud-based expense reimbursement application, designed to create an easy, efficient, and automated expense reimbursement experience for IEEE ITSS fellowship recipients.

Reports submitted through Concur should be submitted with a cover letter.

  • Click here to create an account with Concur. (The account might take several days to be unlocked, so make sure to create it in time!)
 
Items to note:
  • All expense reports must be completed and submitted before the end of this year!
  • Receipts are required for reimbursement of any expense item $20.00 USD or larger.
  • For air travel, only coach/economy class airfare is reimbursable. Business or first class airfare is not reimbursable.
  • IEEE requires hotel expenses to be itemized per day. Please enter separate room rate & room tax amounts.
  • Reports should be submitted with a cover letter.
  • The maximum amount to be reimbursed for the 2023 IEEE ITSS R8 Chapters Meeting is $700.00 USD).
