Each year the IEEE ITSS German Chapter awards PhD theses for outstanding contributions to the field of intelligent transportation systems. The theses must have been obtained by a University, University of Technology, or University of Applied Sciences located in Germany. Theoretical and experimental contributions are equally considered. The award consists of a certificate and a monetary prize.

For the 2020, the winners of the IEEE ITSS Germany PhD Dissertation Award are:

  • 1st Runner-up: Dr. Oliver Heirich
    
  • 2nd Runner-up: Dr. Fateme Bakhshande
